Swimming Sessions

Make an Appointment

All swimming sessions require a prior appointment. Please give us a call at:

And we'll be able to schedule an appointment for a swimming session as well as answer any questions you may have.

Requirements

Please have a discussion with your vet prior to starting swimming exercise. We ask for written approval from your vet that your dog is healthy enough to swim and mention any health conditions for which swimming therapy is recommended (ie. ACL injury, arthritis, hip dysplasia, etc). This also ensures that our swimmers are free of infectious diseases so that we can keep every swimmer safe.

Pool Rules

Please check our Rules & Regulations document for the full information.

First Swim

Please allow your dog to potty before entering the pool area. On your first visit, you will complete paperwork and allow your dog to become familiar with the new place and people. First swims are always assisted so we can determine your dog's comfort level and needs for future swims.
Our INTRO packages include 1 to 2 assistants in the pool. Refer to pricing for details.
We have vests in all sizes as well as water toys and treats but feel free to bring your dog's favorite toy and treats.

Swim Time

All our swimming sessions are 30 minutes. Please note this doesn't mean 30 minutes of straight swimming as dogs require breaks between laps depending on their fitness level and needs. In some cases (ie. water trauma) dogs might not swim at all for 1 to 3 sessions as we will hold them and float them in the beginning for them to learn to feel safe and comfortable in the water before they start to swim. Getting dogs over their water trauma requires a lot of patience and love so we don't rush them into swimming until they are comfortable.

After the Swim

After the 30 minute swim, we allow 15 minutes to rinse and dry your dog.  We have an area where you can rinse your dog to wash off the pool water. Please bring your own towels to dry. There is a bathroom and lockers you can use, we recommend bringing a change of clothes in case you get wet and want to change your clothes. We provide grain alcohol for their ears in order to avoid ear infections.
